KLINGON D-10 RISKADH HEAVY CRUISER
(FASA: STARFLEET BATTLES GAME)
This was a quick spur-of-the-moment diversion from my other Star Trek projects. I already had the "neck" and forward pod already done, since they are the same as my Klingon D-7 K'tinga model (just with a slightly different color scheme.) I actually LOVE this ship - it looks fantastic (and very aggressive) from any angle, and is the only ship that Fasa created that is a worthy addition to the canon Star Trek ships. (In fact, in all due honesty, I think the D-10's design is even slightly superior to the D-7's design! Heresy, I know...)
My goal with this is NOT to faithfully recreate the miniature from Fasa's wonderful 1990's Star Trek tactical space-battles tabletop game. Just as the miniatures of that game, fantastic as they were, can't possible contain all the detail of the spaceships seen in the films and TV shows, I've added a LOT of detail to my Carrara model of the Riskadh. I've added a few components similar (but not identical to) the D-7 and the Bird of Prey, to give the D-10 more of a visual unity with the other two ships of my 3D Klingon fleet. I'll have a short animation of my Klingon fleet posted to my YouTube channel once I find the time to make an animation.
