STARFLEET CONSTITUTION-CLASS (PHASE 2) U.S.S. ENTERPRISE
A rare image of the Phase 2 USS Enterprise, as originally conceived for the cancelled 1979-1980 television series "Star Trek: Phase 2" (Also known as Phase II.) The TV series was "cancelled" only for the sake of being upgraded to a movie, a movie that we now know as "Star Trek: The Motion Picture."
The Phase 2 Enterprise was remodelled by Matthew Jefferies (the original designer of the 1960's Enterprise) and later by Andrew Probert, who modified the design even further for "Star Trek: The Motion Picture." The above image is an approximation of how their Enterprise would have looked, based on a few pre-production paintings and some model shots from the special-effects studio that I managed to scrounge up on the Internet.
