U.S.S. ENTERPRISE IN BATTLE AGAINST THE U.S.S. RELIANT,
MUTARA NEBULA (STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN)
This is an update of one of my first Star Trek rendering projects, done originally in 1999. This new shot no longer features an image from the Astronomy Picture of the Day Archive. Instead, it uses an image that I created myself in PhotoShop using a technique that I devised for creating images specifically of the Mutara Nebula. The USS Enterprise (Constitution refit) and the Miranda-class Reliant (NCC-1864) are both my "Ultimate" versions. Not "ultimate" as in fantastic, but "ultimate" in the sense that I'm finally satisfied enough with them to no longer make ANY further changes to them ever. Which, after sixteen years of continual tweaking and improving, is long enough.
