STARFLEET MIRANDA-CLASS U.S.S. RELIANT
The USS Reliant, a beautiful ship and worthy companion to the Constitution (refit) class USS Enterprise, was quite easy to model, also done back in the days of Ray Dream Studio, before Carrara was released. I was, of course, able to use the saucer (primary hull) and engines from my USS Enterprise model, and added the extra shapes and texture maps as needed. I've recently (July 2008) "refitted" this model as well, which only took about an hour, thanks to the work I had already done on my new USS Enterprise 3D model. As with the starship Enterprise, this 3D model is also entirely self-lit, meaning that the only sources of light in the image are lights that are part of the starship itself - no other spotllights, bulb-lights, distance lights, etc.
