Episode V:
The Millenium Falcon escaping from Cloud City on Bespin
As of June 27th, 2006, this is my most recent Carrara 3D Star Wars image, and already one of my all-time favorites. I had the TIE-Fighter models and the Falcon model done years ago, so all I had to do for this shot was create Cloud City, which took all of about 15 minutes since it's only to be seen from a distance, with no details whatsoever except for some tiny buildings on the very top. The textures, including a pretty clever Glow Channel, were all cranked out in PhotoShop and placed on, then the image was rendered in several layers, all composited over each other to get the lighting on each object just the way I wanted, instead of doing all five objects in one pass over the background image. I have this as my PC's wallpaper now, in 1024x768 size. Let me know if you want a copy of it at that size and I'll be happy to send you the file.
