Dear Blizzard;
We've certainly had our fun over the past six years, you and I - good times, good times. But now it's time that we both move on. I know it hurts to hear that, and believe me it hurts to say it as well.
But we've both grown as people, and sometimes when people grow - and change - they have to move on. And that's what we both have to do.
The truth of the matter is, I'm seeing somebody else, a new MMORPG. It's called "Star Wars: The Old Republic." Now I don't blame you for being bitter. SWTOR has copied almost everything that made you the biggest MMORPG ever - the ease of game-play, the very shallow learning curve, the intuitive UI, and so on. Heck, even the keyboard bindings and commands are identical to WoW, and for that I don't blame you for feeling cheated.
But SWTOR offers more, much more, and I don't feel that it's right - or even fair to us both - to deny this. I'm an exploration/crafting player more than a combat player, and even more than that, I'm a die-hard ROLE-PLAYING player. I live for character development, rich and compelling story-lines, and vibrant non-player-characters to interact with. SWTOR gives me all that more than WoW ever could. SWTOR gives me new and amazing ways to define my characters' personalities, their histories, their backgrounds, and even their morality - in fact, developing a character through role-playing is required in SWTOR, and the only ways that WoW ever let me develop my character was face, skin, hair, gear, etc. And I just need more.
I hope you'll understand, and I think this can even be a chance for you to grow as well. I won't say that someday you'll thank me for this, but I hope that some day you'll at least be able to understand that not everybody that wants to play an MMORPG lives for raids, dungeons, more raids, and a life dedicated to non-stop PvP. Some of us - me included - despise PvP, because we're casual players that just hop online to play as a way to relax after a hard day in the real world.
So now it's time to close, and for us to part ways. I'll always treasure the times that we've had. You were my first. Please, find happiness, and I'll always remember you fondly.
Sincerely;
